Alternative Roof-Blocking Systems
Traditional Roof-Blocking Systems
Almost all traditional roof-blocking systems use wood as the main foundation for attaching roof components together. Common attachments:
- Graven stops
- Eves
- Drops
- Fascia
- Gutters
- Cant strips
- Vent stacks
- Rooftop equipment
- Expansion joints
- Roof curbs
- Copings
The drawbacks of using a wood base to nail into your roof structure include:
- Susceptible to damage and deterioration
- Susceptible to moisture, termites, ants, etc.
- Does not provide venting to allow moisture and gasses to pass through
- Prone to reduced dimensions, warping, and splintering
- It's hard to achieve a straight and uniform configuration
At Concrecel USA, we've created an alternative to traditional roof-blocking systems. Our invention comes as a pre-prepared configuration, which can be customized to your commercial building and increases its lifespan.

Components of Our Alternative Roof-Blocking System
Our alternative roof-blocking system is made up of galvanized steel, steel, aluminum, plastic, and non-corrosive materials. Each system comes with three major components for attaching roofing equipment and materials: an anchoring flange, an intermediate portion, and an upper flange.
- Anchoring flange: structured for attaching to the roof structure with an insulation layer or our lightweight insulating concrete.
- Intermediate portion: installed with a vent gap or area of depth to accommodate insulation or our lightweight insulating concrete.
- Upper flange: acts as a mounting base for roof components, materials, and equipment.
Advantages of Our Alternative Roof-Blocking System
- Requires less hardware, labor, and materials
- Fabricated to conform to any roof insulation or lightweight insulating concrete requirements
- Enhances wind resistance at the roof edge
- Integrates easily into the existing roof structure
- Pre-fastened holes created during assembly reduce human error
